Los Angeles Celebrates World Art Day
On April 16th, members and friends of Artists for a Better World in Los Angeles came together to celebrate World Art Day. The event was held at the Church of Scientology of the Valley in North Hollywood.
Beautiful artwork lined the hall where artists displayed their work.
The Village Poets had a poet’s corner. Poets who read their works on stage were Halsey Wickser, Marlene Hitt, Alice Pero and Joe DeCenzo.
All the while the stage was graced with performers including Teenagers in Disguise, joined by Steve Sola and nine-year-old Layla Richeson.
Other performers included the duet of Lauren Perreau and Solomon Melnick, Maria Monet and a presentation by visual artist Peter Green. The festivities ended with Vocals by Leala Duncan with Crispin Barrymore on piano.
Rebecca Mate and Carmelita Pittman received special awards for their contributions in supporting the use of arts to uplift society.
Meanwhile, the kids had their own booth where they had kids crafts, painting and face painting.
