AFABW members and guests gathered at the home of Renee, Wayne and Jack Haroutunian to take part in a creative evening.  It started with a reception and potluck where people feasted on a variety of good food, and networked with one another.  The Haroutunian’s home was a perfect setting for art displays all over the yard, and then entertainment on their large outdoor patio.  In true AFABW style our members worked together to pull off the event, and also shared their artistic talents.

There were fifty-two attendees, that included members and guests.  Some guests included a couple Board Members from the Gasparilla Arts Festival in Tampa Bay that gets 40,000 attendees.  They enjoyed meeting many of our artists and found some prospects for their fair.

At the reception attendees walked around the yard and viewed all the art, as well as original books on display, while being entertained by the music of LD Sledge and Aurora Schoeller.  Then the Topcasters, a top music duo, wrapped up the reception on the patio.

Then everyone gathered for the show outdoors where member Dick Colligan was the MC.  He brought up Founder Barbara Cordova to give an update on the group. Then special guest Jake Isham, film maker and photographer, gave a talk about how to be a Working Artist.   Others that performed were Neal Fox doing original songs, Manuela Oliveira dancing with her Warriors Squad, Alan Graham and Arte Maren who recited written works, Barbara doing original songs with husband Rob Oliver, Steve Cherubino performing a couple songs, and 3 Feet Behind with three part harmonies, and ending with “We Are the Champions” in honor of all the artists.

Per survey what was liked most was the environment and variety of art forms and performances.
