AFABW was instrumental in the creation of the second Art in the Park at Plaza Park in Clearwater FL.
AFABW volunteers were on board from the beginning helping with promotion, booking of artists and musicians and general coordination. The day of the fair many of our members had booths that adorned the park with beautiful art. While on the stage several performers embellished the grounds with music and poetry. All the while our photographers captured the day on camera.
At the AFABW booth we gave out post cards and newsletters and introduced them to our group. Many also got The Way to Happiness books, one of the main social betterment groups we support. All the while we had a kids table with a sign that said to “Draw what makes you happy” and many came and did just that. They were also handed a “Good choices” book, a kids’ version of The Way to Happiness.
As a result, we now have several artists who are interested in AFABW and future events which we will invite them to. One woman who works for the school district even wants us to come and do projects with the kids.
