Each year in August, police and fire fighters visit their local communities for National Night out, a day to foster communication between our first responders and our communities. This was our third year of participation by our chapter in LA.

They participated in events in East Hollywood and Sunland-Tujunga. Visitors to the booths were offered The Way to Happiness books. Kids also participated in the Get High on Art, Say no to Drugs project, and drew pictures of a world where creation is encouraged and drugs are discouraged.

In East Hollywood AFABW was acknowledged with a certificate of appreciation for their work in social betterment and helping to make the world a better place. Chapter Director Lallah Rowe accepted the certificate on behalf of the LA Chapter.
