AFABW Founder Barbara Cordova hosted a video showing of a musical based on her book entitled Mission of the Artist- a story about the importance of the artist to society and what can go wrong when destructive forces seek to destroy the arts -and society in general.
The story was written at the time she was also developing AFABW and the two go together – with AFABW being a solution to creating a better world through aesthetics, and support of top social betterment groups.
Some AFABW members also wore hats to help pull off the promotion and production of this event. Attendees gave feedback after the showing, and several expressed interest in joining AFABW and taking part in our activities. Some of the original cast and creators of the project were in attendance too! Such as Denice Duff, Chris Rath and Guy and Dolly Lindley.
REVIEW:
“Mission of the artist is an inspiring and positive piece of art. The music and performances by the actors were fantastic. This play will make you laugh and cry. The subject matter that it covers is near and dear to me and very relevant to what is going on in the world right now. The play touched something inside of me that made we want to get into action. We as people are much more powerful than we give ourselves credit for, and need to remind ourselves that we do have the power to make a change in this world. The story and songs reminded me of the importance and power of artists, and the huge effects they can create. Great work Barbara!”
