In the wake of the 2020 riots we decided to spread happiness in the LA area – and every weekend for 9 weeks we ventured out mostly to the 3rd St Promenade in Santa Monica that had been devastated by riots and boarded up. This lovely area by the beach attracts thousands of people of all ages, races, religions and cultures. We handed out books with our logo on the cover, as well as custom covers with the art by our members.
People were so thankful for our attention, and putting happiness back into the area.
Hundreds of books were also handed out in other local neighborhoods.
The results were amazing, and all who received the books were thankful for this helpful gift. Many were seen reading the book right away.
The volunteers had great wins, as what better thing can one do than to spread truth and happiness to world filled with sadness and lies!
Volunteers:
Doing the distribution on Sunday was an INCREDIBLE experience!!!! It was SO extroverting to get The Way to Happiness out and put out some positive energy into society! It is EXACTLY what is needed today with what is going on and I am SO happy to have done it! So many people were incredibly thankful for what we were doing and it was amazing! KH
“The reaction of the people was so positive. I tried creating unity and had many people agree that we need to all unite and stop listening to the media who loves to sensationalize, create division and create fear to control us all. I felt good about doing a good deed.” -PM
“They were so nice to talk to and expressed a lot of enthusiasm and support for the purpose of AFABW. This was such a revitalizing and inspiring experience. Sometimes we forget how many amazing, creative people there are all around us, and this remind me!” -BG
